Plagiarism & Declaration on Generative AI

Plagiarism Check

In publishing, Jurnal Eduscience (JES) strongly against any case of plagiarism on its own merits. Jurnal Eduscience (JES) commits to deterring plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Papers found with such problems are automatically rejected, and authors are so advised.

The editors will run a plagiarism check using Turnitine and Google to track the level of media text plagiarism.  The similarity rate allowed in the Jurnal Eduscience (JES) is a maximum of 25 percent.

Declaration on Generative Artificial Intelligence
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as an author or co-author as authorship implies responsibilities and tasks that can only be attributed to and performed by humans.

  • Authors should only use AI and AI-assisted technologies to improve readability and language, and the listing of references of the manuscript. Human oversight and control is required for the usage of the technology, authors should carefully review and edit the result as the journal will conduct an AI similarity index check.

  • Authors are allowed to use AI as a research tool where the use of AI or AI-assisted tools is part of the research design or research methods. As such, the usage of AI or AI-assisted tools must be described in a reproducible manner in the methods section of the manuscript.

  • AI disclosure statements are encouraged to be provided if the technology is used.

  • If the manuscript includes AI-generated images, each image title must identify the AI tool and model used, along with the prompt. If the prompt is too long and would reduce the manuscript’s readability, add this statement after the AI tool version: “The full prompt can be found in the appendix.”
